Putting The Special Interest Back In Charge?‏ PDF Print E-mail

Last week, Bob Ehrlich released his so-called business plan for Maryland.  But when it comes to actually creating jobs, his plan is all talk and no-action and proves just how much Bob Ehrlich wants to take Maryland back to the days when the special interests ran things in Annapolis.

While Governor O'Malley is delivering results to Move Maryland Forward and create jobs, Bob Ehrlich is recycling the same tired right-wing, Republican talking points he has delivered since he joined the Gingrich revolution in Congress.

But don't take our word for it. The Baltimore Sun wrote:

"Considering that Mr. Ehrlich was governor for four years, you'd think he could muster a better answer to the big issues facing small businesses than 'I'll look into it.'"

With the economic collapse on Wall Street and global recession and the environmental disaster taking place in the Gulf of Mexico, Bob Ehrlich's plan is also dangerous for our economy and our way of life.

We all remember the cozy relationship that Bob Ehrlich's Public Service Commission had with big utility companies. Now Ehrlich wants even less oversight in a second term so the giant special interests can have their way again over Maryland's families and workers.

But don't take our word for it. The Baltimore Sun said...

"Of perhaps greater concern was Mr. Ehrlich's remarks that he wants state regulators to be "partners, not sheriffs."  Recent events (the financial collapse on a largely unregulated Wall Street and the BP oil spill...have done nothing to suggest that the problem in this country is that government regulators are insufficiently cozy with private industry."

Martin O'Malley has stood up to the big special interests to fight for Maryland's families and small businesses. But we need your help in that fight. Bob Ehrlich's special interest friends have a lot of moneyand we need your help to get the word out.

Join our campaign today and help us Move Maryland Forward? The stakes couldn't be higher in this election for thousands of Maryland families. Will you contribute $250, $100, $50 or whatever you can afford to help us stop Bob Ehrlich's special interest plan and compete with his special interest money.

Bob Ehrlich's plan to take Maryland back may be good for special interest, but it's just plain dangerous for Maryland's families, small businesses and workforce.

We can't let Bob Ehrlich take Maryland Back. Working together, we can keep Maryland moving forward.

Thank you for your support and consideration.

Tom Russell

Campaign Manager

P.S. - Bob Ehrlich spent the last four years as a special interest lobbyist, representing big oil, big tobacco, Wall Street banks and giant utilities. He's already released his special interest agenda. You can expect the special interest money is coming to support of their own. Please help us keep Maryland families first and fight that special interest money.
