What Is The Charles County Democratic Central Committee?
The Charles County Democratic Central Committee (CCDCC) is the county unit of the Maryland Democratic Party. Central Committee members are volunteers elected to a four-year term by the Democratic voters in the Gubernatorial Primary Election.
CCDCC is not an organization of managers, a board of directors, or a policy group. Rather, CCDCC exists fundamentally to facilitate the election of Democrats. In essence Central Committee members are the people elected to work directly in the trenches on behalf of the Party and to organize an on-going presence at the local level. They are the people who do the organizing and actual tasks of helping get Democrats elected. Its members are themselves election workers at the local level, and help administer the committee's ongoing campaign to recruit candidates for offices, to train volunteers, and do party building activities in the county.

Earlier today in Annapolis, I addressed the Maryland General Assembly on the State of the State – our administration's yearly assessment of where we are, where we want to be, and how we'll get there.
As we work to emerge from this global economic recession, the state of our state is stronger than most.
That's no accident. It's the result of difficult decisions we've made together to maintain fiscal responsibility – difficult

decisions, and the right ones.
Balancing Maryland's budget each year has required sacrifices, but they've paid off. We're one of only seven states in America that retain a Triple A Bond Rating, and we're beating all but a handful of other states on job growth.
That's where we are.
But I don't have to tell you that we've got much more work ahead of us to ensure every Marylander who needs a job can get one; all homeowners feel confident they will not fall victim to foreclosure; and no one has to doubt that their children have the opportunity to live the American dream.
That's where we want to be.

Most of you would agree that 2009 gave us many challenges – the collapse of many industry giants, the worsening economy, and the continuing effects of the mortgage crisis hit many families hard. However, I was encouraged when I saw how friends and families pulled together to give each other strength during this time.
